Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly was born on August 3, 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Before her acting career, Evangeline was studying at the University of British Columbia. While there, Evangeline founded and operated a committee for world development and human rights. Since the age of 14, Evangeline had has participated in volunteer projects for children. Evangeline has made small appearances in various TV shows but her first speaking role would be as Kate on ABC's Lost. Before Evangeline could come down to the United States to film, a work visa had to be obtained. Days before until production began, Evangeline had heard nothing about her visa. Her visa was finally approved and Evangeline was only a day late when filming began.
